Sullivan claims CRT seeks to awaken people to the fact that liberalism is a lie. He is wrong. CRT seeks to awaken people to the fact the liberalism has been infected from the start with hatred in the form of white supremacy. That liberal ideals while worthy of reverence, have not been implemented properly. That Liberalism that elevates the ideals, perspectives, and experiences of one group of people and seeks to erase all others is in fact illiberal.

The Recurring Trauma of Police Brutality

The evidence of this is the ongoing disproportionate murder of Black people at the hands of law enforcement for very trivial offenses. It is the ongoing disproportionate imprisonment of Black people altogether. It is the increasing feeling of terror that any single engagement or misstep could lead to loss of life or liberty. It is the systemic lack of accountability in police departments.

Additionally, it stunts student’s ability to perform research because instead of schools teaching them to rely on primary sources of information, the school experience teaches minority students to be distrustful of primary sources, making them more susceptible and vulnerable to “alternative information” or disinformation.
